Poplar Grove Plantation’s 23rd Annual Herb and Garden Fair

After March 20th, spring will have officially arrived! Along with better weather, spring breaks and Easter, gardening will be on the minds of many area residents. If your don't know an azalea from an oleander or would really like to give vegetable gardening a try, make plans to attend Poplar Grove Plantation's 23rd Annual Herb and Garden Fair. The 2-day event starts on Saturday, March 28th from 9 am until 4 pm. On Sunday, March 29th, the hours are 10 am until 4 pm.

For the uninitiated, this is so much more than a huge plant sale. Throughout the weekend, there will be a wide variety of classes on a multitude of topics. Experts will be on hand to offer help on popular subjects such as square foot gardening, edible landscapes, how to create a bird sanctuary, drought tolerant landscaping and so much more!

The fair's very knowledgeable plant vendors will be offering guidance and selling annuals, perennials, shrubs, native plants, vegetable starts, herbs, container gardens, plus supplies and materials to get you started! Because every garden space needs a little artful or whimsical touch, crafters will also be in attendance. Here's a little advice, if you see something you love, such as a garden flag or unusual birdfeeder, get it, because these one-of-a-kind items things go quickly!

And please bring the kids! Along with all of the gardening activities, for an extra $5, there will also be barnyard tours and wagon rides. Just make sure the youngsters have on close-toed shoes. This activity is set for Saturday only from 10 am until 2 pm.

As for lunch-no worries! Food vendors will be on site for your convenience. Admission is $5 for ages 13 and up. Those over 62 and active military visitors get in for $3. For all of the details, please use this link: www.poplargrove.org
